Jason Lim founded Halios in Vancouver in 2009, and its About page says the brand grew out of the online dive-watch forums, whose enthusiasts still make up most of its customers. Its manufacturing partners are in Asia, Switzerland, Germany and the United States, runs are kept small, and each Seaforth is assembled and tested in Vancouver before it ships. That 40 mm diver, introduced in 2017, is the model the brand is known for; aBlogtoWatch argues it may be the one microbrand design to have earned real icon status, while noting that every generation has been sold a different way and each method has had its problems. In the fourth generation, the first in titanium, Halios gives the case material only as titanium, with no grade, fits a Sellita SW200-2 and offers a titanium bracelet with a stainless steel clasp. An earlier 2019 run of the Seaforth used aluminium nickel bronze, which Acquire reported at the time would be the model's last production run for a while.
