Alan Tsao established Tsao Baltimore in 2017, and the company designs and assembles its watches in Baltimore, Maryland, with the stated aim of one day manufacturing them there as well. Every design, the brand says, is a tribute to the city: the Torsk-Diver is named for the USS Torsk submarine moored in the Inner Harbor and numbered to 423 after its hull, and the Balt-Pilot for the Martin 187 Baltimore bomber built by Maryland's Glenn L. Martin Company. The Balt-Pilot is the titanium line, cased in what the brand calls Ti2, which is Grade 2, under a hardened coating rated at 1,200 HV, and the Kaspa and Kadena collaboration editions use the same titanium finished in DLC. Bronze is CuSn8 on the Torsk-Diver and on the Legacy GMT, down to the Legacy's buckle, and releases come as numbered limited runs, 50 per colourway for the Balt-Pilot. Reviewing the Torsk-Diver Professional in 2024, aBlogtoWatch's Mike Razak called it a step up from the chunkier original.

What the catalog shows about TSAO Baltimore

All of its references here are mechanical. It publishes a case weight for none of its references, so the guide carries no measured weight for the brand. A display caseback is the norm rather than the exception here, on 100 percent of the references that state one.

Derived from the 6 references below, recomputed on every update, and printed only where a measurement stands apart from the rest of the catalog.
