The Titanium Field Guide

Picks of the month

The best titanium watches of September 2026

The guide added 262 titanium watches from 57 brands in September 2026, and these are the eight the editor would point a friend toward first. Every one of them was announced that month, four of them at Geneva Watch Days, so for once the list of what is new to the guide and the list of new watches are the same list. They run from a hard-coated pilot's watch built to be worn daily to a 25-piece debut from a London architect, and the Neode and the Oris both run for more than a week on a single wind. Read through, then vote for the one you would wear; the poll stays open for four weeks.

Chosen from the 262 titanium watches the guide added in September 2026, and published on 14 October 2026. Readers can vote for their favourite until 11 November 2026.

Neode N01 First Edition Pure Silver

≈$31,718 (CHF 26,400) · 39.5 mm · 9.9 mm thick · 50 m · manual N01 (derived from the Chronode C101) · Grade 5 Titanium

Neode is the debut of Marius-Daniel Dumitrascu, a London architect who went through more than 130 printed prototypes, wearing many of them for weeks, before settling the case. Voutilainen & Cattin make that Grade 5 titanium case, 39.5 mm across with a double-curved flank that tapers into the lugs. The hand-grained 925 silver dial comes from Les Cadraniers de Genève, and the teal power-reserve gauge at 12 tracks a manually wound calibre developed with Chronode from its C101, which runs for eight days on twin barrels. Only 25 will be made, with deliveries from the second quarter of 2027.

Formex AirField Automatic Jet Black

≈$1,165 (CHF 970) · 40 mm · 10.6 mm thick · 54 g · 150 m · automatic Sellita SW200-2 Power+ · Grade 2

Formex took the 40 mm titanium platform of its Field Automatic and turned it into a pilot's watch, announced in September with deliveries due from late October. The Grade 2 case and bezel are hardened to about 900 HV, which is the practical answer to titanium's reputation for scuffing, and the head weighs 54 g. Inside, the Sellita SW200-2 in its Power+ form stretches the reserve to 65 hours. The Jet Black dial keeps the aviation cues restrained, with recessed numerals on a sloped chapter ring and a seconds hand whose counterweight is a small aircraft.

Micromilspec Fieldmaster

$2,995 · 40 mm · 11.2 mm thick · 200 m · automatic Horage K3 · Grade 5

Micromilspec has supplied watches to serving military units since 2019, and the Fieldmaster, which opened for orders on 2 September, comes out of a field test in which thirty soldiers wore prototypes. Their verdict shows in the dial: a small seconds at 6 replaces the sweep hand that kept crossing the hour and minute hands. The 40 mm Grade 5 case has a smooth fixed bezel meant not to snag, and it holds Horage's silicon-escapement K3 with more than 100 hours of reserve, which Oracle of Time believes is the calibre's first use outside Horage's own watches.

Oris ProPilot X Gonzo Edition

$10,500 · 44 mm · 12.6 mm thick · 100 m · manual Oris Calibre 115 · Titanium (grade undisclosed)

Oris unveiled its third Muppets watch at Geneva Watch Days, and the joke is built into the movement. The hand-wound Calibre 115 has a ten-day reserve, and Oris laser-marked the edge of its long mainspring so that Gonzo's face lines up in the open barrel as you wind it, then dissolves as it runs down. The power-reserve hand is a chilli pepper, borrowed from one of his shirts, and the skeleton dial fades from blue to red and yellow. Underneath it is the serious 44 mm titanium ProPilot X, on its multi-piece titanium bracelet.

Venezianico Redentore Levius

$5,550 · 38 mm · 8.9 mm thick · 48 g · 30 m · manual Venezianico V5000 (manufactured by OISA; designed by Fausto Berizzi and Andrea Menegazzo) · Grade 5

Venezianico built this Redentore around lightness: the Grade 5 titanium Redentore weighs 48 g, 38 mm across and under 9 mm thick, and Monochrome's reviewer found the weight the first thing they noticed on the wrist. The Zefiro guilloché, a pattern drawn from the wind, was cut by hand by Linda Renzetti on an 1850s rose engine. Behind it sits the V5000, a hand-wound calibre made in Italy by OISA, which matters to a Venetian brand moving more of its work home. The numbered first hundred sold out within weeks of the September launch.

Schwarz Etienne 1902 Petite Seconde Heure Doree (Black DLC Titanium)

≈$24,670 (€21,890) · 39 mm · 10.9 mm thick · 50 m · automatic ASE 300.00 (in-house) · Grade 5

The 1902 Petite Seconde is the watch with which Schwarz Etienne brought Grade 5 titanium into its range, and this Heure Dorée edition, shown in September, coats that 39 mm case in black multi-layer DLC. The point is the dial, a grained black centre under a black opaline upper plate picked out in gold-toned indices and hands, which Monochrome reads as the last warm light at the end of a day. The in-house ASE 300.00 micro-rotor, made in La Chaux-de-Fonds with an 86-hour reserve, gets anthracite and ruthenium finishing to match. Only eight will be made.

Alto ART 02

≈$14,764 (€13,100) · 36 mm · 10.2 mm thick · 38 g · 50 m · automatic Alto A02 · Grade 5

Alto calls the ART 02 its first permanent collection, and it is also the brand's first metal bracelet, in Grade 5 titanium like the case and the movement's main plate. The case is small by integrated-bracelet standards, 36 mm wide and 42.3 mm long, and weighs 38 g without the bracelet. Every surface is satin-brushed in different directions with nothing polished. The A02 micro-rotor calibre, developed with Cercle des Horlogers, beats at 5 Hz and keeps the brand's counter-clockwise seconds hand. A push-button release swaps the bracelet for leather or rubber without tools, and deliveries begin in November.

Benrus Type 3X Zulu

$2,950 · 42 mm · 12.5 mm thick · 200 m · automatic ETA 2893 · Titanium (grade undisclosed)

Benrus built its Type I and Type II for American special operations units in the 1970s, and the Type 3X, launched in September, was developed with former special operations soldiers. The 42 mm case pairs a titanium top, bezel and closed caseback with a mid-case of carbon composite, and it is rated to 200 m. The ETA 2893 adds a 24-hour GMT hand to the dive bezel, a useful pairing for anyone tracking a second time zone. Worn & Wound's reviewer singled out the rubber strap as the most contemporary part of the design.
