Steinhart watches in titanium and bronze

Günter Steinhart trained as an architect and engineer rather than as a watchmaker, and he founded his brand in 2001 and draws the watches himself, according to a business-on.de interview updated in 2022. The company is based in Augsburg and works with a network of German and Swiss suppliers, and the founder credits selling direct, without a retail markup, for putting a Swiss automatic within reach of ordinary buyers. Worn & Wound's Zach Weiss described the early range as largely homages and recreations of flieger and marine designs, and read the Ocean One Titanium Premium 500 as a step toward something of its own, with a titanium case and bracelet and a ceramic bezel in the spirit of the Tudor Pelagos, though his 2016 review found the titanium finishing soft. The specifications its dealer Gnomon publishes describe satin titanium and solid bronze cases without naming a grade or alloy, and the founder's favourite when interviewed was a 47 mm bronze Marine Chronograph.
