The Swiss village of Hölstein has been home to Oris since Paul Cattin and Georges Christian founded the company there in 1904. It joined ASUAG, the group that later became Swatch, in 1970, and after the quartz crisis cut its staff from 900 to a few dozen, a 1982 management buyout led by Rolf Portmann and Ulrich W. Herzog made it independent again and committed it to mechanical watches only. The ProPilot X and the Aquis Pro divers are built in titanium, in what Oris describes as multi-piece cases without naming a grade. Many of them carry Calibre 400, the five-day automatic introduced in 2020 with a ten-year warranty, which Fratello reports was conceived and developed at the Hölstein manufacture. The bronze models, the Big Crown Pointer Date and the Divers Sixty-Five among them, pair a bronze case with a stainless steel caseback, and the ProPilot Altimeter has been made with a carbon fibre case.

What the catalog shows about Oris

It states a standard alloy grade on none of its titanium references, against 45 percent across the catalog, so the alloy behind its titanium is rarely if ever named. All of its references here are mechanical.

Derived from the 16 references below, recomputed on every update, and printed only where a measurement stands apart from the rest of the catalog.
