Bremont takes its name from Antoine Bremont, the French farmer who sheltered Nick and Giles English, brothers and pilots, after a forced landing in their 1930s biplane in the late 1990s, and the brothers started the company in 2002. Its first collection arrived in 2007 together with a collaboration with the ejection-seat maker Martin-Baker, and Davide Cerrato has been chief executive since 2023, according to Monochrome. The watches are built at The Wing, a purpose-built manufacturing centre in Henley-on-Thames that opened in 2021. Its titanium comes as Grade 2 on the Altitude MB Meteor and, on the Supermarine Descent II and the Boeing models, as what the brand calls aviation-grade Ti 6-4, the Grade 5 alloy. The Supermarine Full Ceramic is its first mono-block ceramic case, sintered at 1,450°C and fitted with a titanium container for the movement. The current Terra Nova bronzes are cased in a cupro-aluminium alloy and closed with a PVD-coated stainless steel caseback.
