Cartier Santos de Cartier Large (Titanium)

Monochrome called this the first all-titanium Cartier: the brand had used the metal for cases and bezels before, but never for the case and bracelet together. It keeps the Santos LM's dimensions exactly, 39.8 mm wide, 47.5 mm lug to lug and 9.38 mm thick, and changes the finish. Cartier uses what it calls Grade 5 ELI titanium, which is Grade 23, bead-blasted where the steel model is brushed, with polished bevels, a blasted bezel instead of a polished one and a black spinel in the crown. Cartier told Monochrome it takes twice as long to machine and finish as steel. The watch weighs under 100 g against 145 g in steel, and the clasp is the only steel part, so it is not nickel-free. The dial is the classic silvered one with Roman numerals and blued hands, over the 1847 MC automatic with 42 hours of reserve. A grey alligator strap with QuickSwitch comes with it.
