Formex Field Automatic (Titanium)

The Field Automatic is Formex's entry-level watch, and aBlogtoWatch called it the most accessible way into the brand. The case is Grade 2 titanium given a case-hardening treatment that raises its surface from about 145 to 900 Vickers, so the deep gunmetal finish stays free of the scratches bare titanium collects. It is fully bead-blasted and angular, 40 mm across but only 10.6 mm thick and 46.6 mm lug to lug, so it wears smaller than its diameter. A box sapphire crystal sits over the dial, a Sellita SW200-1 with a date runs it, and it is rated to 150 m. The second generation comes in Ice Blue, Coho Salmon and Basalt Grey on nylon, Velcro or leather at $1,060, and Formex sells it in batches, often as a pre-order.
