Seagull 1963 Icon II Green Bronze Edition

The Icon II Green is a modern take on the Seagull 1963 pilot's chronograph, sold by seagull1963.com, which states that it is an independent retailer with no tie to the Tianjin Seagull Watch Group and has the watch made to its own specification around a genuine Seagull movement. That movement is the ST1901, a hand-wound column-wheel chronograph descended from the Venus 175 that came to Tianjin in 1955, here fitted with a blue swan-neck regulator and running at 21,600 beats per hour behind a sapphire window in a steel back. The case is CuSn8 bronze with horizontally brushed sides, so it will darken and patina with wear, while its sibling, the Blue edition, uses polished steel. It measures 40 mm across, 12.7 mm thick and 46 mm lug to lug, under a double-domed box sapphire. The dial is sunburst green with cream subdials and rose gold indices, each piece is individually numbered, and it lists at EUR 537 on a green calfskin strap.
