Whitby Watch Co Avro CF-100 Canuck

Whitby Watch Co is a Canadian brand, and the Canuck pays tribute to the Avro Canada CF-100, the twin-engine all-weather interceptor that first flew in 1950 as the first mass-produced fighter jet designed and built in Canada. It comes in 39 or 43 mm cases of titanium, and in two dials. The MK I nods to the jet's rounded radar nose with a smooth centre medallion under the hands and a grainy outer dial, while the MK II uses a turbine-themed centre and a simpler minute track. Both have a lightning-bolt seconds hand taken from the prototype's paint scheme and C3 Super-LumiNova, in colours from black and navy to fuselage grey and military green. They run on the Swiss Sellita SW200-1 behind a sapphire exhibition caseback, are rated to 100 m with a screw-down crown and are assembled in Canada.
