Zelos Helmsman 2 300m Bronze

The Helmsman was the watch that launched Zelos in March 2014, and the Helmsman 2 redesigns it from the ground up while keeping its 1960s Super Compressor layout: two crowns, one working an internal timing bezel, both screwed down. The case is CuSn8 marine bronze, 42 mm across, 13.5 mm thick and 48 mm lug to lug, sandblasted on the sides with polished edges, and it is rated to 300 m under a double-domed sapphire. The brushed bronze bezel simply screws on and can be swapped by hand, except on ceramic-bezel versions. Dials come in black, blue and a Muonionalusta meteorite that shows its own Widmanstätten pattern, with BGW9 lume on the dial, the engraved internal bezel and the crowns. It runs on the Seiko-made NH35 with a date. The caseback is 316L steel, so it is not nickel-free. It comes with both a Horween leather and a rubber strap, from $649.
