Chanel J12 Caliber 12.2 33mm Black
The J12 was Chanel's first unisex sports watch, named for the J-Class racing yachts, and this is the 33 mm version in black high-tech ceramic: a monobloc ceramic case and a bracelet of hand-assembled ceramic links. Ceramic keeps its gloss and colour indefinitely and does not scratch in daily wear, though it can chip if knocked hard. The black lacquer dial has white ceramic hour markers set individually by hand. The crown, the rotating bezel under its ceramic ring and the triple-folding buckle are steel, so the watch is not nickel-free. Inside is the Caliber 12.2, made at Kenissi, the Swiss movement maker Chanel part-owns, chronometer-certified with about 50 hours of reserve, and it is rated to 200 m. It lists at $7,950.
