Seiko Astron GPS Solar (SSJ027)

The SSJ027 was a 2024 limited edition of 1,500, one of a pair of night-sky Astrons alongside the SSH157, and it extended the angular Astron design Seiko introduced in 2023 in a smaller 41.2 mm case. The case and integrated bracelet are titanium with Seiko's super-hard coating, 12 mm thick and 48.6 mm lug to lug, and it weighs 110 g. The light blue dial is textured like a starry sky and shifts as it catches the light. Inside is Caliber 3X62, a GPS solar three-hander with a perpetual calendar that sets itself to the local time zone from satellites and runs up to six months on a full charge; a sub-dial at 8 o'clock shows whether it has a GPS signal. aBlogtoWatch found it light and comfortable despite the blocky case. It sold out and is no longer offered.
