Seiko Astron GPS Solar Dual-Time Sport SSH117

The SSH117 belongs to the Astron Dual-Time Sport series, whose curved case, wide lugs and thin bezel Seiko introduced in 2019 as a homage to the original 1969 Quartz Astron. It runs on the 5X53, which Seiko calls its slimmest GPS Solar calibre: it charges from light alone, connects to the GPS network up to twice a day to keep time, and moves to a new time zone, daylight saving included, at the push of a single button, with a second button swapping home and local time on the main hands. The case is 43.1 mm of Super Titanium in mixed satin and polished finishes on a matching bracelet, under sapphire with Seiko's super-clear coating, and it is rated to 200 m. The wide hour markers carry LumiBrite.
