Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Spring Drive 5 Days Lake Suwa (SLGA019)

Lake Suwa lies southeast of the Shinshu Watch Studio, where Grand Seiko makes Spring Drive, and the SLGA019's dial evokes its surface rippling under an early morning breeze, in a lighter blue than the midnight blue SLGA021 before it, shifting colour with the angle of the light. This version moved the Lake Suwa to high-intensity titanium, which Grand Seiko says is 30 percent lighter than steel, keeping the same case: 40 mm across, 11.8 mm thick and 47.9 mm lug to lug, mostly brushed with Zaratsu-polished accents, with a screw-down crown and 100 m of water resistance. The hands and markers are faceted, and the date sits in a bevelled frame. The 9RA2 runs about 120 hours to plus or minus 10 seconds a month, with its power-reserve indicator on the movement side, visible through the sapphire back. It weighs 112 g on the titanium bracelet.
