Junghans FORM A Titanium

Junghans launched the FORM A Titan in 2020 as a titanium version of its FORM A, the plain automatic in a line whose name, according to the maker's launch text, comes from the Bauhaus rule that form follows function. The case is matt titanium, 40 mm across, which Junghans calls slightly larger than usual for the collection, and 10.7 mm thick, with a sapphire crystal and a screwed see-through back glazed in tinted mineral glass. Junghans gives it a sportier character than the rest of the line, with water resistance of 10 bar, and the strap buckle is titanium as well. This reference, 27/2002.00, has a black matt dial with a minute track marked out in small recessed squares, lumed hands and a date at 3. It runs on the J800.2 automatic with 38 hours of reserve, and Junghans' own US shop lists it at $1,410.
