RZE Valour 38

RZE is a Singapore microbrand that makes nearly everything in titanium, and the Valour 38 is its field watch. The case is Grade 2 titanium under RZE's UltraHex coating, which the brand rates at up to about 1,200 HV, so it resists the desk-edge scuffs that mark bare titanium within weeks. At 38 mm across, 45 mm lug to lug and 57 g on a strap, it is small and light enough to forget you are wearing it. When Time+Tide covered the launch in 2022 it was a no-date watch on Seiko's NH38, crowdfunded at $219. The current version adds a date on the NH35A, along with new dials, a new handset and a rubber strap, and lists at $399. The movement is where the price shows: dependable and easy to service, but nothing more.
