William Wood Bronze (Heritage)
William Wood is a British brand built around firefighting heritage, and its bronze automatic carries it everywhere: a seconds hand tipped with a vintage fire bell, a seconds track in the chequered pattern of a fire engine, a crown made from a century-old British brass firefighter's helmet melted down, and straps made from upcycled fire hose. The case is CuSn8 bronze, 41 mm across and 15.5 mm thick including the double-domed sapphire, brushed on the sides and lugs, and it will patina over time, though the maker notes lemon juice brings it back. The caseback is bronze too. It has a unidirectional aluminium bezel and 100 m of water resistance. The matte dial has cut-out indices over a green C3 Super-LumiNova disc and a date at 3, and it runs on the NH35 automatic with about 41 hours of reserve.
