Big Idea Design Ti Field Automatic

Big Idea Design is an American maker of everyday-carry gear, and it designed the Ti Field Automatic together with RZE, which is why the case will look familiar to anyone who knows RZE's own field watches. Its best idea is the bezel, a smooth-turning timer ring simplified from a dive bezel, which is the right tool for a parking meter or a pot of pasta. The case is Grade 2 titanium, 40.5 mm across and 12 mm thick, and the watch weighs 51 g before a strap goes on. It comes with two Neightoe straps, one in Horween leather and one in nylon, both with titanium hardware, and a titanium bracelet is sold separately. Seiko's NH36A shows the day and date and sits behind a sapphire caseback. It costs $499. The stonewashed case has sold out at the maker, and the black one is still available.
