Casio G-Shock Full Metal GMW-B5000TB-1

The GMW-B5000TB was the first titanium version of G-Shock's full-metal square, the 5000 series that recasts the 1983 DW-5000C in metal. Casio made the case, bezel, band, caseback and buttons in titanium and coated all of it in DLC, where its earlier black versions had used ion plating, and SJX noted that the coating's granular finish is meant to mimic the look of an ordinary G-Shock case. It was also the first 5000-series model with a sapphire crystal. Titanium brings the weight to about 110 g, 57 g less than the steel GMW-B5000, in the same 49.3 by 43.2 by 13 mm case with 200 m of water resistance and Tough Solar power. Casio said the work involved meant production had to be limited to a set period, and SJX described it as made for a limited time rather than as a limited edition. Casio America listed it at $1,550 when it reached the US at the end of 2019.
