Ressence Type 8

The Type 8 has no hands and no crown. The time is shown by discs orbiting on a single convex dial, the ROCS 8 system, driven off the minute axle of a customised and reinforced 2892/2 automatic, and the Type 8 is the simplest expression of it, showing hours and minutes only. The dial itself is Grade 5 titanium, matt cobalt blue or sage green, curved to a 75 mm radius and turning on jewelled ball bearings, with its indications engraved and filled with blue Super-LumiNova. The case is a sandwich of polished and satinated Grade 5 titanium, 42.9 mm across and 11 mm thick, under domed sapphire front and back, and it is only splash resistant. With no crown, the watch is wound and set by turning the caseback. It runs about 36 hours and weighs 42 g on its leather strap, which closes with a titanium buckle.
